Rockstar Games has released Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for iOS. The remaster of the original PlayStation Portable game has been released on the App Store without prior notice.

The remaster is largely the same as the original, with a few tweaks to optimize for use on the iOS devices. For example, 3D Touch is supported and the game plays with polished graphics on the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and iPad Pro at 60fps. Rockstar claims to have improved the missions. They have also been shortened to better match the gaming experience on mobile devices.

It is also possible to listen to your own music in-game by creating a music list for use via an in-game radio station. Integration with the Rockstar Games Social Club makes GTA: Liberty City Stories playable across multiple devices. The game was previously re-released for the PlayStation 2 and 3.

Liberty City Stories was first released in 2005 for the PlayStation Portable and is a spin-off of GTA III with new content. For now, the mobile version of Liberty City Stories can only be played on iOS, but Rockstar says it is working on a version for Android, Windows Phone and Amazon Kindle. In the App Store, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories costs 6.99 euros.
