Rockstar Announces Remaster Original GTA Trilogy And Port To Smartphones
Rockstar Games officially announces Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The trilogy of the first three 3D GTA games will be released for the current and previous generation platforms and should be released later this year. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
The trilogy consists of Grand Theft Auto III (2001), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2003) and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (2004). Rockstar promises, among other things, graphics and “modern gameplay” improvements. The games will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, Rockstar said in a blog post. Rockstar will probably release the games as a bundle, although no prices have been announced for the time being. In the first half of 2022, a mobile version of the trilogy will also come to iOS and Android.
In recent months, it has been suggested, based on various sources, that the trilogy in question would be in development. In addition to anonymous sources, it appeared at the beginning of this week that references to the remasters of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas could be found in the current Rockstar Games Launcher.
