Rock Band Unplugged releases June 9 for PSP
Rock Band Unplugged, the version of the music game made especially for the PlayStation Portable, will be released on June 9. Sony is starting a separate in-game store where songs for the game can be purchased and downloaded.
Rock Band Unplugged will be released on June 9, publisher Electronic Arts has announced. The game, a version of the rhythm game made especially for the PlayStation Portable, has its own store where additional songs for the game can be purchased; this store is accessible from the game. Rock Band Unplugged does not require any special hardware, such as Guitar Hero On Tour, the rhythm game for the Nintendo DS. Unplugged’s UMD contains forty songs, nine of which could not be played in previous versions of Rock Band. Those nine songs will later be released as a download for the other Rock Band games. To purchase the songs via the PSP, the PlayStation Network credentials can be used.
Among the exclusive tracks are Kryptonite from 3 Doors Down, Would? by Alice In Chains, What’s My Age Again by Blink 182 and ABC by The Jackson 5. In Rock Band Unplugged, players can take on bass, guitar, drums or vocals. The Overdrive, familiar from other versions, also returns in Unplugged, as do well-known games such as World Tour and Band Survival.
