The robot fight between the American MegaBots and the Japanese Suidobashi Heavy Industry will take place in August. The location has not yet been announced by the robot builders. The fight will be broadcast on YouTube.

MegaBots reports in a newsletter that it will deploy a new version of its fighting robot. The MK.III weighs twelve tons and is almost five meters high. The robot has not yet been shown in its final form, which will be done in a new video soon. Like the MK.II, the new model is equipped with caterpillar tracks. The earlier version featured a gun capable of firing 1.3kg paintballs at a speed of 160km/h.

MegaBots says more details about the fight, location and teams will be announced in the coming months. The American team takes on the Kuratas robot from the Japanese builders. The robot is four meters high and weighs about four tons. The Japanese mech has dual gatling guns, a targeting system, and a heads-up display.

In July 2015, the American robot manufacturer MegaBots challenged Japan’s Suidobashi Heavy Industry to a robot duel. The Japanese accepted that invitation. The fight was supposed to take place about a year after the announcement, but it didn’t work out because the venue the organizers had in mind canceled its cooperation.
