Robot Entertainment has announced that its free game Orcs Must Die! Unchained will be released on April 19. Until now, the game was in an open beta phase. The game will feature a new play mode upon release.

According to Robot Entertainment, the PC game will be available through Steam and its website after its official release. The maker describes the game itself as a tower defense game. When it was announced in 2014, there was still talk of a combination of a moba game and a card game, but that plan has been deviated from. The aim of the game is to defeat onrushing groups of orcs alone or in a team, including through traps, which also play an important role in the previous Orcs Must Die titles.

The new Sabotage game mode pits two teams of three against each other. They both defend an identical playing field against orcs, but can counteract the opposing team by sending more opponents and bosses that way. In the end, the team with the most points wins.

Robot Entertainment says that the game should also be released on the PlayStation 4 later this year, but does not mention an exact date.
