Square Enix has announced that it will release Rise of the Tomb Raider on January 28 on Steam and Windows 10. The game has been available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One since November 13, 2015.

The game came out as a limited-time exclusive for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but Square Enix has now announced when this exclusivity will end. PlayStation 4 users will have to wait a little longer. The game’s release for the PlayStation is scheduled for late 2016.

There have been rumors for a while about when Rise of the Tomb Raider would also be coming to PC. After Amazon France announced a release date in March, Steam indicated in late December that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be coming to PC in January. It has now been announced that the game will be released for Windows 10 and Steam on January 28, according to Square Enix.

In the specifications of the system requirements, Square Enix indicates that Windows 7 and DirectX 11 are the minimum. How this will play out in terms of playability of Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC with Steam is not yet known. Square Enix emphasizes that the game will be released for Windows 10. Theoretically, it is possible that the game will be available for older operating systems, because it does not concern DirectX 12. Furthermore, Crystal Dynamics, the developer of the game, recommends at least an Intel Core i3 -2100, 6GB ram and an Nvidia GTX 650 2GB.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider. The Tomb Raider series is a reboot of the original game series centered on adventurer Lara Croft. The price quoted by the publisher is $59.99 for the regular edition and $89.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. There will also be a Collectors Edition that includes a 12″ Lara Croft figurine for $149.99. The latter two will be accompanied by a Season Pass, which gives access to the upcoming DLC. A price in euros has not yet been announced, but it will probably be equal to the dollar price.
