Riot Games is working on a mmorpg set in the Leage of Legends world of Runeterra. A manager of the company confirms this on Twitter, although no details about the game are known yet.

The confirmation comes from Greg Street, the VP of IP and Entertainment at Riot Games. He says on Twitter that the studio is working on a massive multiplayer online game. He is thus answering a question from a reader, in response to a previous tweet announcing his new role at Riot Games. “My new job at Riot is to announce a big, you could say massive, game that many have asked us for.” Until now, there has not been an mmo within the League of Legends universe. In recent years, Riot Games has made spin-offs such as Legends of Runeterra and the mobile game Wild Rift.

The game takes place in the same universe as the original League of Legends itself. The company does not want to give further details, although the company says to PCgamer that it is an RPG. It is not yet known what the timeline is and when the game should be released.
