Retailer puts pictures of Google Pixel 4a 5G online
A British retailer has put images and a video of the Pixel 4a 5G online. Specifications of the phone appeared on Wednesday, but what the phone would look like had remained a secret until now.
British retailer John Lewis has put the photos on the regular Pixel 4a’s product page and at the time of writing those images are still online. The site 9to5Google found the page. The phone in the images has a design that is in line with the Pixel 4a and the images that previously appeared of the Pixel 5. The 5G version can be seen by the 5G logo in the status bar and the presence of multiple camera lenses on the back.
The specifications of the Pixel 4a 5G were already released on Wednesday. The screen of the 4a 5G is larger than that of the Pixel 5, but the battery is smaller, the information shows. With a 3800mAh capacity, the battery is still a lot bigger than the 2800mAh battery from the Pixel 4. The soc is also the same as in the Pixel 5, namely the Snapdragon 765G with built-in 5G modem.
Just like the 4a, the 4a 5G is completely made of plastic. Google would like to sell its phone in Europe for 499 euros and thanks to the reduced VAT, that would amount to 486 euros in Germany.
Google has already announced that it will present new hardware on September 30. Presumably the company will show the 4a 5G and 5. The names of the phones have been known for some time; at the presentation of the 4a last month, the manufacturer already said that the 4a and 5 would be coming this fall.
