Respawn Unveils New Apex Legends Arenas Map Habitat 4
Apex Legends is getting a new Habitat 4 map for Arenas mode on January 11. The new arena has the same, more natural style as the already added battleroyale island Storm Point.
Habitat 4 is a secluded research environment where the giant Leviathans were researched over a century ago, Respawn Entertainment details. The map has a building on either side where the two teams of three players start. The center of the arena is largely natural, with only a few man-made structures. Respawn emphasizes that the new Arenas map facilitates close- and medium-range combat. This makes it seem like one of the smallest arenas in Apex Legends.
The addition of Habitat 4 does not herald the start of a new season, as the current 11th season will run until early February. The Arenas map does accompany the Dark Depths event, with Respawn adding new cosmetic items to the game.
Apex Legends’ Arenas mode pits two teams of three players against each other. Competitive mode focuses on smaller-scale tactical combat. Players fight for at least three rounds to win and must be at least two pots ahead of the opponent to win the entire game. This is in contrast to the battle royale mode, where 60 players fight alone, in pairs or in teams of three to be the last alive.
