Respawn is working on a third person Star Wars game

Gamemaker Respawn has announced that it will be working on a new Star Wars game. The Titanfall developer will not disclose further details about the game’s story or when it should be released.

Since Respawn is still looking for people to develop the game, it will probably take a long time before it actually comes out. It will be a third person action game, Respawn says. It’s far from the only Star Wars game in development. Game publisher EA reports that more than five other developers are also working on games based on the franchise.

EA and Respawn are teaming up with Star Wars owner Disney for the game. The Titanfall developer is not reporting any further details about the game. The development of so many games has coincided with the release of a new series of films in the Star Wars franchise. Episode VII: The Force Awakens came out late last year. The ‘cut-scene’ Rogue One should hit theaters at the end of this year.

Wednesday’s announcement is no coincidence. This date, May 4, is considered Star Wars day with the cry ‘May the 4th be with you’.
