Respawn gives Titanfall co-op mode via update
Respawn Entertainment has announced its biggest Titanfall update to date. Among other things, the developer introduces a co-op mode, in which four players have to defend a goal against different types of computer-controlled opponents.
The new feature will be available on all platforms, Respawn Entertainment announced on its blog. In the co-op mode, also known as Frontier Defense, up to four players must defend a target against different types of AI opponents. The so-called waves increase in power with each round and defense towers can be earned that can be placed on the battlefield by the player. Players who perish in battle are flown back to the front, meanwhile shooting at targets on the ground.
The eighth update also contains ranked play, which is not a separate game mode. Game mode works in all standard competitive sessions. Players are assigned a rank and then set goals to achieve. This allows them to increase their rank. However, the game mode can also be turned off. At least during the month of October, ranked play is still in beta, but after that the game mode should become available to players of level 32 or higher.
Respawn Entertainment also makes minor changes to the game. For example, the developer adds seventeen new achievements specifically for the Xbox One and, among other things, the loading time on the PC would be significantly reduced. In addition, a number of bugs are fixed for both platforms. The update should roll out from Thursday.
