Respawn bans Apex Legends players for ‘piggybacking’
Respawn says it wants to ban players who piggyback on the success of the rest of the team. Players who let teammates do all the work and do not participate in the game themselves will receive a temporary or in extreme cases even a permanent ban.
That indicated the developer of the popular battle royale game on Reddit. The measure has not yet been implemented, but the company already wanted to warn players in advance. Players who join game sessions and then take no action may be subject to a temporary or, in exceptional cases, permanent ban. When this mechanism will be added to the game is not yet known.
Furthermore, Respawn indicates in the blog post that it wants to solve the problems with the registration of hits. The playable characters Caustic and Gibraltar have also been adjusted, but Respawn has not yet announced what these adjustments entail. The company is also improving its servers to avoid slow game start-up graphics and to resolve common system issues.
Also, general audio improvements and better sounding footsteps are still being worked on. The new ‘Pick Me Up’ banner that was added to the PS4 version of the game last update caused some users to crash. Respawn has currently disabled the banner and will fix the issue with the next patch.
