Respawn and EA show first gameplay footage of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
Respawn Entertainment has revealed gameplay footage from its upcoming game Jedi: Fallen Order. In it, a Jedi plays the leading role. A mission is shown in which the player must free a group of captive Wookiees from the hands of the Imperium.
The game takes place between the events of Episode III and Rogue One, which becomes most concrete at the beginning, when the player sees Saw Gerrera. Saw is a character in Rogue One and is played by actor Forest Whitaker. It’s unclear if the voice in the game also belongs to Whitaker, but at least it comes pretty close.
Respawn has clearly been able to use his experience with platforming in this game: in Jedi Fallen Order there is also a nice amount of difficult terrain to be bridged. The player can use force jumps, but also wallrunning, known from Respawn’s Titanfall games.
On the offensive side, the player uses his lightsaber, force push, stopping enemies, projectiles and objects in the world. Furthermore, the developers state in a panel during EA Play, EA’s E3 event, that fighting with a lightsaber should also become quite in-depth. They speak of blocking, parrying and deflecting.
Finally, the main character carries a personal body droid called BD-1. The main character has a certain bond with this droid, but he also takes care of hacking terminals and other equipment, for example.
The game will be released on November 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin. EA has previously indicated that there are no microtransactions in the game, and that there is no multiplayer mode.
