Capcom comes with an HD remaster of the thirteen-year-old title Resident Evil Zero. The game was previously released for the Gamecube and has already been re-released for the Wii. The remaster is set to release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC in early 2016.

The Resident Evil Zero HD remaster is being polished up by a team made up of developers who were also involved with the original, which came out in 2002. This includes director Koji Oda, although producer Tsukasa Takenaka, previously involved with Resident Evil 5 and Revelations, is new. Resident Evil Zero has been re-released once before: in 2008 the game was released on the Wii. Little had changed in that regard: for example, the game controller was not adapted for the motion controller of that console.

The remaster was announced on Monday by Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, Oda and Takenaka in a video. Hirabayashi was the producer of the HD remaster of the remake of the original Resident Evil for the Gamecube. This remaster was released early this year for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, and has since sold more than a million copies.

The story of Resident Evil Zero is set before the events of the first Resident Evil. Police officer Rebecca Chambers and ex-soldier Billy Coen investigate a series of murders that turn out to be caused by a zombie outbreak. The player can control both main characters, which is necessary to solve the puzzles in the game. The remaster will be released in early 2016 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
