Resident Evil Village is getting an expansion with third-person mode
Paid DLC for Resident Evil Village will be released in October, allowing players to play from a third-person perspective. Players who buy the expansion can also play with Lady Dimitrescu, among other things.
The announced downloadable content for Resident Evil Village will be called Winters’ Expansion and it will be released October 28. There will also be a Resident Evil Village Gold Edition with that expansion. Players can play the game in third-person mode with the expansion. Previous games in the franchise were already playable in third-person, but Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village switched to a first-person perspective.
Winters’ Expansion simultaneously brings a new storyline with Rose Winters. This one is called Shadows of Rose and is set sixteen years after the developments of Village. The expansion also includes new playable characters in the Mercenaries mode, including Lady Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield, and Karl Heisenberg.
Capcom announced the expansion during its Capcom Showcase. Resident Evil Village was released in May 2021 for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
