Resident Evil Village gets expansion with third-person mode

Paid DLC for Resident Evil Village will be released in October that will allow players to play from a third-person perspective. Players who buy the expansion can also play with Lady Dimitrescu, among other things.

The announced downloadable content for Resident Evil Village will be named Winters’ Expansion and this one comes out October 28th† There will also be a Resident Evil Village Gold Edition with that expansion. Players can play the game with the expansion in third-person mode. Previous games in the franchise were already playable in third-person, but Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village switched to a first-person perspective.

Winters’ Expansion simultaneously brings a new storyline with Rose Winters. This one is called Shadows of Rose and takes place sixteen years after the development of Village. The expansion also includes new playable characters in Mercenaries mode, including Lady Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield and Karl Heisenberg.

Capcom announced the expansion during its Capcom Showcase. Resident Evil Village was released in May 2021 for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
