Resident Evil 2 characters become playable in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
Game developer Capcom is adding a crossover to the Iceborne expansion of Monster Hunter World. In the future, players of the icy DLC can play with Claire and Leon, the stars of the horror game Resident Evil 2. But also Mr. X and zombies will soon be in the game.
The developer has published a trailer for the upcoming crossover. It shows players in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne playing with Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy, the main characters of Resident Evil 2. They fight in the trailer not only against the huge monsters that the original Monster Hunter is known for, but also against zombies. That seems to be other Monster Hunter players wearing their own zombie skins. You can also see how the characters walk around in a large building that doesn’t feel very characteristically Monster Hunter-like.
It’s not the only crossover in the game, though. The trailer ends with a brief appearance from villain Mr. X. What he will do there and whether players can also play as him is not entirely clear. Oh, and there are some upbeat Thriller-esque dances in the teaser, which might mean some new moves for players.
There have been several crossover events in Monster Hunter World. For example, characters Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn and Witcher main character Geralt can already be seen in it.
