Replies from paying users will now be given priority on Twitter
Replies from Twitter users with a Blue subscription will now take priority over those from non-paying users. The company says this on its own site. Paying users can also upload longer videos.
It is unknown how much more weight answers from paying users receive in rankings, but Twitter mentions the priority on his Twitter Blue page. The move is not unexpected, as the company had previously said that answers from Blue subscribers would be prioritized in the algorithm. The move is controversial, because it allows trolls to buy a higher place in answers and that would make the user experience less for other users.
In addition, Blue subscribers can upload videos of up to 2GB. These may last a maximum of one hour and they have a maximum resolution of 1080p. Uploading is currently only possible via the web: the apps for iOS and Android do not yet have this new higher limit.
Twitter said it has temporarily taken offline the #ThereIsHelp feature, a feature that directs users to where they can go for help if they have suicidal thoughts. Reuters writes that according to Twitter the function will be back online next week. According to Twitter, the feature is offline due to the renewal of features on the platform.
