Renders show unannounced Samsung Galaxy M12 budget smartphone
Renders of a as yet unannounced Samsung Galaxy M12 budget smartphone have appeared. The housing of the device appears to be comparable to that of the recently announced Samsung A42 5G. The M12 would be released in early 2021.
The renders are published on Voice by OnLeaks. He regularly publishes renders of unannounced smartphone. He makes these himself, based on CAD files that he receives from accessory makers, for example. The renders from OnLeaks are regularly truthful.
The leaker reports that the M12 shows similarities with the recently announced Samsung A42 5G. For example, the M12 would have the same plastic housing with a flat screen and a square camera island with a maximum of four lenses. The selfie camera is incorporated in a drop-shaped notch in the screen.
However, the dimensions of this Galaxy M12 seem to differ slightly from the A42 case. According to OnLeaks, the M12 has dimensions of ‘approximately’ 163.9×75.9, making the device slightly smaller than the A42. The M12 would also have a 6.5 “screen, while the A42 houses a 6.6” panel. The screen resolution and panel type of the M12 are still unknown.
Furthermore, the images show a back with a partly glossy design and a USB-C connection. According to OnLeaks, the M12 will have a fingerprint scanner that is incorporated in the on / off button. Further specifications are not yet known. According to OnLeaks, Samsung would announce the Galaxy M12 in early 2021. The company will probably also come with its Galaxy S21 devices in January, of which previously renders and specifications were leaked. It is not yet clear how much the device will cost, but the current Galaxy M11 is in the Pricewatch for € 146.28.
