Renders show suspected design Galaxy Note 7 smartphone

Renders have surfaced online of what the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would be. The device in the renders has curved screen edges and has virtually no bezels on the sides. The renders also show a USB-C port.

The USB-c port on the Galaxy Note 7 would differ from the Galaxy S7 series, which has micro USB. In addition, it would make the Note 7 the first high-end Samsung smartphone not compatible with the current Gear VR virtual reality headset. It has a micro USB connection in the housing.

The renders, which the French smartphone lover OnLeaks posted on Twitter placed, additionally show a slot for a stylus. Last year, Samsung released a slim Galaxy Note 5, while also releasing a large phone without a stylus, the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Only the latter was released in the Benelux.

The dimensions of the Note 7 are 15.35 x 73.9 mm according to the renders. This brings the bezels on the sides to about 1.2mm per side, less than any other smartphone. Based on the renders and the dimensions, the screen comes out at around 5.75″. The resolution is unknown, but previous rumors indicate an OLED screen with RGB format and a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.

The renders don’t seem to show the dual camera from a previous rumor. There are two extra sensors on the front, it is possible that the Note 7 has an iris scanner there. According to recent rumors, Samsung would skip the name Note 6 and call the device Note 7, in order to align the numbering of the Note series with that of the Galaxy S line. That is not the case now, because the smartphone maker released the first Note a year and a half after the first Galaxy S, at a time when the S II was already on the market. Samsung would like to present and release the Note 7 in August.
