Renders have appeared online of what the 2018 Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 should be. The devices would have 18:9 screens with a diagonal of 5.5″ and 6″. It concerns the same Infinity OLED screens as in the Galaxy S8 series.

The renders from OnLeaks, published by MySmartPrice, show that the A5 and A7 do not have a Bixby button, unlike the S8 series and the Note 8. The fingerprint scanner is on the renders on the back, below the camera. This makes it centered on the housing, unlike the S8 and Note 8, where it can be found to the right of the camera.

The screen resolution is 2160×1080 pixels according to OnLeaks. This makes the aspect ratio 18:9 or 2:1, while the Galaxy S8 has a slightly longer screen with 18.5:9. If the information is correct, the bezels are considerably larger than with the S8 and Note 8. On the side, the A5 and A7 have 7.4 and 8 mm, where that is 3.6 mm with the S8.

The A5 and A7 would get an Exynos 7885 soc from Samsung. That processor is made at 10nm and contains two Cortex A73 cores, four Cortex A53 cores and a Mali G71 GPU from ARM. The phones have a USB-C port and a 3.5mm jack.

The Galaxy A series includes midrange phones that often get specs and features from the Galaxy S phones from the previous year. For example, this year they have a waterproof housing. The A devices usually come out at the beginning of the year.
