Renders of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro have appeared. They show a device with a ‘waterfall screen’ with a notch and a circle with four cameras on the back. The render comes from OnLeaks, which states that there are still some uncertainties about the design.

The renders have been put online by Pricebaba in collaboration with OnLeaks. The latter Twitter user is known for his accurate renders of unreleased smartphones that he makes from CAD files. Earlier, OnLeaks said it doesn’t plan to release the Mate 30 Pro renders because there are some uncertainties about the design. He said on Twitter that the model was ‘too strange to render correctly’. It’s unclear what aspects of the current renders may be wrong.

The device has dimensions of 158.1×73.6mm and is 8.7mm thick. The part with the cameras is 9.7mm thick. The screen would be a so-called waterfall screen, with sides that slope down at a sharp angle. Because the screen is curved, the diagonal is difficult to estimate, but OnLeaks thinks it is a 6.6″ screen. Huawei keeps the rectangular notch on the front, just like the Mate 20 Pro. In the black area are three camera sensors are visible, there is a usb-c connection and the sim card holder at the bottom, and an infrared emitter at the top.

Huawei is likely to equip the Mate 30 Pro with its Kirin 990 soc. That is a soc with a built-in 5G modem and Huawei will announce all details about it on September 6, during the IFA fair in Berlin. The device would get a 4500mAh battery.

According to previous rumors, the device will have two 40-megapixel cameras on the back, one of which is equipped with a wide-angle lens with a field of view of 120 degrees. The third camera is said to combine an 8-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens and the fourth camera is said to be a time-of-flight sensor for depth measurement.

Last week it was announced that the Huawei Mate 30 series will not receive Google services due to the US trade ban. Google told Reuters that, but Huawei hasn’t confirmed it yet. The device may contain Android, but perhaps the Google apps and services are missing. Huawei will present the Mate 30 series on September 19.
