Renders show Motorola’s Android One phone with hole in the screen
Renders have appeared of the successor to the Motorola One and that will be the first smartphone from Lenovo with a hole in the screen. Earlier, Samsung, Huawei and Huawei’s subsidiary Honor already presented phones with a hole in the display.
The site 91Mobiles publishes the renders of OnLeaks and calls the phone P40, but the device on the renders shows an Android One logo. Lenovo released the Motorola One last year alongside the P30, although they are two variants of the same design. These renders seem to show the successor of the Motorola One. Lenovo announced that smartphone a few months ago.
According to the site, the device is 160.1×71.2×8.7mm in size, which is longer than the current Motorola One, which is 150mm long. It is a 6.2 “screen with unknown resolution and aspect ratio. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back, with a Motorola logo on it. The device has a USB-C port and 3.5 mm jack.
According to the site, the Android smartphone has a 48-megapixel camera on the back, just like the recently presented Huawei Nova 4. Like this Moto smartphone, it has a hole in the screen. A few weeks ago, Samsung presented the first phone with a hole in the screen with the A8s.
The hole in the display is a further development of the freeform concept that also allows for the notch in the screen. The trick to making screens in any shape possible is to hide the gate drivers behind the screen in vertical stripes. The transistors required for the circuit’s operation are then seated at each sub-pixel. This makes every shape possible; after all, the control does not take place from the bezel of the screen, but from below the pixels. It is still unknown when Lenovo would like to present the successor to the Motorola One.
