Renders show LG G6 device in a case
New renders have surfaced online showing the possibly final design of LG’s new G6 smartphone in a third-party case. The South Korean company recently announced that it will be announcing the phone on February 26.
The renders are published by GSMArena and show a device with a dual camera. The design is very similar to that of previous renders, which were distributed by smartphone enthusiast Evan Blass at the end of December. On it, the dual cameras and the fingerprint sensor can be seen in the same places on the housing as in the current images.
LG previously announced that one of its ‘flagships’ will have an IPS LCD with a resolution of 2880×1440 pixels. The screen must have an aspect ratio of 18:9, or 2:1, and a diagonal of 5.7″. The invitation recently sent to the event on February 26 showed an outline of the device with the same ratio and the text also hinted at a wider screen.
In many cases, the proportions of smartphone screens are 16:9. The invitation included the word waterproof among other terms, raising the expectation that the G6 model will be waterproof. LG previously announced that it does not want to repeat the semi-modular design of its G5 device with the successor.
