Renders show Google Pixel 3 Lite and Lite XL – update
Renders have appeared of the Google Pixel 3 Lite and Lite XL, two midrange devices that Google would like to release in the Pixel series. Both smartphones do not have a notch above the screen.
The renders were made by 91mobiles in collaboration with OnLeaks, which claims to have the details of the Lite versions of the Pixel smartphones. The images show a Pixel 3 Lite with 5.5″ screen and a Pixel 3 Lite XL with 6″ panel. They have a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The smartphones are similar to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL with a slight difference in tint on the back between the part above the fingerprint scanner and below. The housings are made of plastic and both devices have a 3.5mm audio jack, which is missing on the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. There is a single camera on the front and back. The Pixel 3 Lite would be 151x70mm in size, the XL version 160x76mm. This makes them slightly larger than the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.
91mobiles refers to previous rumors about the Pixel 3 Lite for the specifications. They spoke of the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and there are reports that the XL variant will get a Snapdragon 710. The devices would also have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The camera on the back would have a resolution of twelve megapixels, just like the regular Pixels. The front camera would have a maximum resolution of eight megapixels, also equal to the regular Pixels. It is not known when Google will announce the new Pixel smartphones and what they will cost.
Update: Initially it said that the smartphones had a 720p resolution but this has been adjusted to 1080×2160 pixels.
