Renders show full design of Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
Renders of what would be the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have surfaced. The devices are made by different manufacturers, but nevertheless have similarities in design. Google will probably announce the phones on Wednesday.
Well-known telecom insider Evan Blass, also known by his twitter name @EvLeaks, published the renders on Venturebeat after only putting some renders of the XL version online. The small Pixel has a regular 16:9 display with a rectangular shape, while the Pixel 2 XL has an 18:9 display with rounded corners. The screen diagonals are 5″ and 6″.
Both phones don’t exactly have a borderless design, according to the renders. Although the exact bezels will not be determined until Google announces the dimensions, it seems that the smaller Pixel has about the same bezels as Google’s current phone. The Pixel 2 XL has less space at the top and bottom of the screen, but about the same amount on the sides.
According to VentureBeat, an anonymous source claims that the devices will not come out at the same time. The smaller Pixel would go on sale October 19, the larger variant would appear on November 15. HTC makes the smaller ones, LG makes the bigger ones.
Google will hold an event on Wednesday evening where it will showcase new phones. In addition, the search giant will probably also come with other hardware at that event. There were rumors about new speakers and a 2-in-1.
