Renders show cheaper Samsung Galaxy S20 ‘Fan Edition’
Renders have appeared of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. This so-called Fan Edition would be a cheaper version of the S20. The hardware would be largely the same as that of the regular Galaxy S20.
The renders are created by @OnLeaks, which she has published in collaboration with pricebaba. OnLeaks is known for creating accurate renders based on cad files that come from accessory makers, for example.
The renders show a device that looks the same as the regular Galaxy S20, with a hole in the screen for the front camera and a camera island with three cameras on the back. The case would measure approximately 161x73x8mm and consist of a metal frame with a plastic back.
The screen would have a diagonal of 6.4 “or 6.5” and the soc is a Snapdragon 865, or possibly an Exynos variant. Samsung may only make 4G variants to cut costs. A version with 6GB ram and Android 10 has been released by GeekBench, according to pricebaba; there may also be a variant with more ram.
Twitter user IceUniverse said at the end of July that the Galaxy S20 FE will get an IMX555 sensor for the primary camera. That 12-megapixel sensor is also in the regular Galaxy S20. Furthermore, the Fan Edition is expected to get an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 12-megapixel sensor and a telephoto lens with 3x ‘zoom’ and an 8-megapixel sensor.
According to the South Korean website The Elec, Samsung will release the Galaxy S20 FE in October and the device will cost 900,000 Korean won. That is about 640 euros and the price would be comparable to that of the Galaxy S10 Lite, which cost 649 euros when it was released at the beginning of this year.
