Renders of suspected Xiaomi Mi 5 pop up online
Renders have appeared online of what is supposed to be the Xiaomi Mi 5. The device has not yet been announced by the manufacturer, but if previous rumors are correct, the smartphone will have a 5.2 “screen with a Snapdragon 820-soc.
The images came online via a user on the Chinese social network Weibo, Times News noted. Although the authenticity of the displayed device can therefore be difficult to verify, the design of the Xiaomi Mi 5 shown does correspond to an image that appeared online earlier. The renders show that the Chinese manufacturer probably wants to release its upcoming flagship in the colors black, pink, silver and gold.
Earlier there were already rumors about the possible specifications of the smartphone. For example, it is suspected that Xiaomi has opted for the Snapdragon 820-soc from Qualcomm and a screen with a diagonal of 5.2 “. The ram would be 4GB and the storage memory 16GB or 64GB. Photos can be taken with a 16-megapixel camera on the back. and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, with a price tag of under $400.
Xiaomi is also rumored to be working on a larger version of the Mi 5; this Mi 5 Plus would get a larger screen, but otherwise almost equivalent to the smaller model. It is likely that the smartphones will be announced in the near future.
