Renders of OnePlus Watch 2 appeared online; The clock would run on Wear OS 4

Renders of the suspected OnePlus Watch 2 have appeared. The smart watch would be supplied with a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC and a 1.49” AMOLED screen and would have Wear OS 4 as the operating system.

From the renders that have appeared on tech website MyFairPrice, it appears that OnePlus has significantly modified the housing of the digital watch. On the right side of the housing there is now a protrusion with room for two control buttons. According to the editors of 9to5Google There would also be room for a touch-sensitive surface on that part of the housing. The watch reportedly still has a rotating ring around the screen.

The very first version of the OnePlus Watch ran its own operating system, but that would… according to leaker Max Jambor can now also be abandoned. He believes that the smart clock will run on Wear OS 4, instead of its own operating system as was the case with the first OnePlus Watch.

OnePlus has not yet officially announced the OnePlus Watch 2. The first OnePlus Watch was announced in March 2021 and sold for 159 euros. That clock has a diameter of 46mm, a 1.39” OLED screen with a resolution of 454 by 454 pixels, 4GB of storage space and a 402mAh battery. The OnePlus Watch has GPS, a heart rate monitor, a blood oxygen meter, a gyroscope, a compass and an accelerometer.
