Renders may show appearance of new 12.9″ iPad Pro
Renders have surfaced that may show the appearance of the unannounced 12.9 “iPad Pro. For example, the renders show that the tablet has thin screen edges and does not have a Home button.
The CAD-based renders are published by MySmartPrice in association with OnLeaks. The site warns that they may not be one hundred percent accurate. The published images are said to give an impression of the largest iPad Pro. Compared to the current models, it is striking that the screen edges are equal on all sides of the device, that the screen has rounded corners and that there is no physical Home button at the bottom.
It is therefore obvious that unlocking the iPad is done using Face ID, which was also mentioned in previous rumours. The camera required for this can be seen on the front of the tablet, which is incorporated in a continuous bezel. As a result, there seems to be no question of the notch introduced with the iPhone X. In addition, a 3.5mm jack is missing.
MySmartPrice mentions that on the side where the volume buttons are located, there is also a button-like recess, the function of which is not entirely clear. It is not the Smart Connector, as it is located above the charging port.
Apple is expected to announce the new iPad Pro model along with a smaller 10.5″ variant at its event on September 12. It recently sent out invitations. In addition, Apple would like to announce three new iPhones, among other things.
