Renders have surfaced of the Venice, which would be the first BlackBerry with Android. In addition, photos and a video have emerged of a BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition running Android.

The slides that Crackberry published show, among other things, what the BlackBerry Hub would look like on Android, show that the Venice has access to Chromecast and give an exploded view of the camera, which according to the text of the slide has a maximum resolution of eighteen megapixels. That slide also gives a look at the rear, which appears to have similarities to that of the 2013 Z30.

The Venice presumably has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 soc on board. Furthermore, the rumors speak of a 5.4 “screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. When the Canadian manufacturer wants to announce the device is unclear.

In addition, there is footage of what the Android variant of BlackBerry looks like in real life. The way the user interacts with Android and the way the shutdown looks makes you think it’s not a launcher, but real BlackBerry software. In addition, BlackBerry Safeguard is visible, something that normally does not appear in the main menu.

The software runs on a Passport Silver Edition, according to the publication of Mondo BlackBerry. It’s unknown if this is just for testing, or if at some point users will be able to choose to start using a BlackBerry-released Android firmware.

The skin is very similar to stock Android, including in the way the main menu, multitask menu and other elements look. Earlier, BlackBerry CEO John Chen said his company would build a secure Android device if it is capable of doing so.
