Render shows suspected successor Moto Z Play
A render of what would be the successor to the Moto Z Play has appeared. The device appears to have almost the same dimensions as its predecessor, but is probably slightly thinner. The 16-pin connector for the Moto Mods is visible on the back.
To make Moto Mods that have already appeared compatible with the new device, Lenovo has to give the case approximately the same size and width. Techno Buffalo, the site that put the render online, has not heard any specs from the source that provided the image.
By superimposing the images of the suspected Z Play 2 and those of the current Moto Z Play, it is possible to deduce a lot from the render. For example, the screen is the same size and little has changed in the design. However, the antenna lines on the back have been slightly changed. The housing is also slightly thinner. It is unknown whether Lenovo will use an equally large battery. The Moto Z Play is known for its good battery life. A 3.5mm jack is visible at the bottom. The Z Play also has it, although it is missing from the regular Moto Z.
The render lists a date of June 8. Sometimes the date on a render refers to the day of presentation. Last year, around that date, Lenovo held its Tech World event, where it presented the first generation of Moto Z phones, although it only unveiled the Play version at the end of August at the IFA electronics fair in Berlin.
The Z Play 2 is not the only phone under the Moto banner that pictures have come out in recent weeks. The Z2 Force, C and C Plus, E4 and E4 Plus, among others, passed in the rumor circuit in recent weeks.
