Render may show Huawei P40

A render has appeared that would show the design of the Huawei P40 smartphone. The render shows that unlike its predecessor, the phone does not have a notch, but a hole in the screen for the dual front camera.

It is unknown what the second front camera will do; Huawei has not released any phones with dual front cameras so far. At the back are three cameras, as the image from 91Mobiles shows. The render also shows the text under the cameras, which displays specs at Huawei. This shows that it is a regular camera, one with an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 17mm lens in 35mm equivalent and a telephoto lens with an 80mm lens. That would mean about a 3x zoom compared to the primary camera, something the P30 now also has.

Moreover, there is no 3.5mm jack visible at the bottom of the render. The P30 does have it and it’s on the bottom. It’s possible that Huawei moved it to the top and that’s something the render doesn’t show.

The phone is said to have a HiSilicon Kirin 990 soc from Huawei itself with a 5G modem, but further specs are unknown. As it stands, the P40 phones will come out without Google services due to the US trade ban. The Chinese manufacturer usually presents its P-devices in March in Paris; at least that’s what happened in recent years. In addition to the P40, there would also be a Pro variant, with a different design, different screen and different cameras.
