Renault has presented a new version of the Zoe. This fully electric car will have a 52 kWh battery, with which, according to the wltp standard, a range of 390 km is possible. This makes the range larger than previous editions of the Zoe. There is also support for fast charging.

Another important innovation is that the new Zoe allows fast charging with 50 kW via a CCS plug. This DC charging option was not yet available on previous versions of the relatively compact electric car. The internal charger for charging at a normal charging station with 22 kW is still present. By using fast charging with 50 kW, it is possible, according to the manufacturer, to drive 150 km again after thirty minutes of charging.

Renault also reports that the new version has a more powerful electric motor with a power of 136 hp and 245 Nm of torque. As far as the appearance is concerned, little has changed at first glance, but according to the manufacturer it is different with the interior. The instruments and dashboard have been completely renewed there.

A special driving mode has also been added to the new version of the Zoe. With this so-called B-mode, the braking force of the car increases and the car brakes much faster when the accelerator pedal is released. This means that the brake pedal needs to be used much less often, according to Renault, which is especially useful in city traffic.

Renault says the updated Zoe will be available from the end of this year, although the company does not say when exactly the car can be expected. The manufacturer does not provide any details about prices either; those will be announced at a later date.
