Remedy releases update for Control that should improve framerate on PS4
Remedy has released an update for the August-released game Control that should improve the framedrop issue. This update is currently only available for the PlayStation 4.
Remedy says the update includes improvements to overall framerate performance by “making optimizations across systems and content.” This may mean that certain elements in the game have been slightly modified in favor of performance.
Control has generally received very positive reviews, with Remedy’s game being praised for its compelling storytelling, although many players across all platforms suffered from frame drops. That problem should now be a lot less on the PS4, which several players seem to confirm. Remedy says the other players won’t have to wait long; the update to address these issues is also coming to Xbox One and PC ‘very soon’.
The patch notes also state that bugs and crashes related to missions, combat and overall gameplay have been fixed. In addition, Remedy says it has improved Control’s stability across all platforms and has, for example, fixed several issues that caused players with the PC launcher to experience crashes attributed to DirectX 11 or 12.
