Remasters of the first three Final Fantasy games will be released on July 28
The remasters of the first three Final Fantasy games will be released on July 28 for PC and smartphones. The first two games cost twelve euros each, the third game costs eighteen euros. Remasters of parts four to six should also be released later.
Square Enix calls the remasters Pixel Remasters and writes that the graphics and audio have been updated. The 2D characters and backgrounds have been redrawn, keeping the original creator’s designs in mind. The soundtracks have also been arranged together with the original composer and now use more than three tones.
The developer has also tackled the gameplay and made it suitable for modern controllers and touch-sensitive controls. The UI has also been modernized and automatic combat options have been added. A ‘bestiary’ has also been added, as well as an illustration gallery, music player and the ability to save at any time.
The first three games will be released on July 28 on Steam, Android and iOS. The remasters must be purchased separately, although there is also a bundle with all six remasters. This bundle costs 75 euros. The last three remasters are yet to be released this year, a release date has not yet been given.
