Registration shows Z790 and B760 motherboards for Intel Raptor Lake CPUs
Motherboard manufacturer Biostar has filed registrations with the Eurasian Economic Commission for several Z790 and B760 motherboards. It is probably successors of the Z690 and B660 models for Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake processors.
The EEC registration names three Z790 motherboards and nine B760 variants are listed. Nothing is officially known about the Z790 and B760 chipsets and any motherboards based on them, but it is obvious that this is a new chipset from Intel that will be released together with the Raptor Lake processors. That Alder Lake successor is expected sometime later this year.

Raptor Lake processors use the same LGA1700 socket as Alder Lake CPUs and it is likely that the processors will also work on existing motherboards with 600 series chipsets. It is not yet known which improvements the chipsets from the 700 series will receive. VideoCardz suggests that the new motherboards support the Digital Linear Voltage Regulator. That would be one of the new features of the Raptor Lake processors; which should ensure lower consumption.
According to previous rumors and leaked information, the Rocket Lake chips will receive more E-cores, for a total of up to 24 cores. That’s 16 in the Alder Lake generation. The new chips would also get more L2 cache and IPC improvements are expected. According to a possible lineup of Intel Raptor Lake processors, the top model is a Core i9 variant with 24 cores and 32 threads.
