Gigabyte has submitted registrations for eight X570S motherboards. It is not yet known what the S stands for exactly. It may be a new version of the AMD X570 chipset, which is now almost two years old.

Two registrations with the Eurasian Economic Commission show a total of eight Gigabyte motherboards with X570S in the name. It concerns models such as the X570S Aorus Master, Aorus Elite, and X570S Aorus Gaming X. It is the first time that references to X570S motherboards have surfaced.

It may be a refresh of the current X570 chipset, which has been used for AMD motherboards since the spring of 2019. It is not clear what improvements the S version will bring. The introduction of X570S motherboards could be accompanied by the introduction of new processors.

VideoCardz suggests that the X570S motherboards could be destined for AMD Warhol processors with potentially “Zen 3+ cores.” Those processors are the intended successors of the Vermeer generation, or the Ryzen 5000 series. With the Ryzen 3000 generation, AMD also came with a refresh in the form of XT versions with improved silicon. In practice, however, the difference turned out to be small.
