Reddit has stopped using Coins and Awards

Reddit has stopped using Coins and Awards. From Wednesday it will no longer be possible to purchase new rewards and the existing Awards will lose their functionality.

Reddit previously announced that it would stop offering rewards. That would happen in September. Since Tuesday evening, it is no longer possible to earn Reddit Coins or buy Reddit Awards to reward posts or comments. That is why thousands of rewards were handed out on Tuesday on all kinds of posts that often had little added value.

From Tuesday it will no longer be possible to use the Awards. Awards allowed users ad-free browsing and access to the closed /r/Lounge subreddit.
