Rockstar has released patch 1.03 for the PS4 and Switch ports of Red Dead Redemption. Users who play the game on a PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility will receive a 60fps option. To date, the game only supported 30fps on that console.

Rock star released patch 1.03 on Wednesday. The 60fps option for PS5 users is the main addition. The update also adds the option to turn on subtitles when the game is first launched. Furthermore, patch 1.03 contains ‘general bug fixes and improvements’, which Rockstar did not elaborate on.

A port of the first Red Dead Redemption game became available for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch in August. The PS4 version also works on the PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility. However, upon release the port only ran at 30fps on the PS4, PS5 and Switch. The PlayStation 5 now has a 60fps option. The game was previously playable on the Xbox Series consoles, also via backward compatibility of the Xbox 360 version.
