Record company releases LP with sounds from 13 mechanical keyboards
There are two types of people in the world: those who love the sound of mechanical keyboards, and those who absolutely hate it. The latter group should certainly not listen to a new album that only consists of that typing sound.
The album was made by Stuart London. It’s called ‘Mechanical Keyboard Sounds’ and does exactly what it promises: it’s an album with 13 songs of about four minutes in which people type on various mechanical keyboards. This concerns both classic keyboards such as the Model F XT from IBM and the Apple M0116 as more modern keyboards that have been released in recent years.
London released the album on Trunk Records. It is available there both digitally and on vinyl – which is nice, after all, you want to hear the best sound quality when you listen to a keyboard. London sent producer Jonny Trunk a video of typing on a mechanical keyboard. “As soon as I clicked and listened, I was sold,” Trunk writes. “I felt a kind of weird, deep appreciation for the sound. The ‘songs’ on the record were recorded by YouTuber Taeha Types, who reviews keyboards.
