Recent images show possible OnePlus X smartphone
OnePlus would in the coming weeks with a cheaper device under the name OnePlus X, reports GizChina. The device would combine the Snapdragon 801 that is also in the OnePlus One with a 5 “screen and two camera lenses on the back.
The fingerprint scanner, which is on the front of the OnePlus 2, can be found on the back, as can be seen from the images that GizmoChina has put online. The site speaks of a ‘new design’ for the OnePlus X, but is not sure whether the images shown show the final design.
The device would have a 5 “screen with undisclosed resolution and run on the same Snapdragon 801-soc as the OnePlus One. On the back are also two camera lenses and two LED flashes. What OnePlus wants to do with the two lenses, is unknown. The Honor 6+ and HTC One M8, among others, also have dual rear cameras to capture depth information.
OnePlus would like to present its cheaper device sometime in the coming weeks and ask for $249 for the phone. The Chinese manufacturer said in the spring that it was working on a cheaper model that should be released before the end of the year.
