Rebellion Developments has unveiled Sniper Elite 5. The game was already glimpsed at The Game Awards, where it was announced that it will be coming to Game Pass, but now there are also actual images of the game.

Sniper Elite 5 has the gameplay familiar from the previous games in the series; part of the trailer is also gameplay. It is also clear that the game takes place in France in 1944. The protagonist Karl Fairburne has to find out what exactly the Nazi operation called Kraken is all about. Judging by the images, it has something to do with a rocket.

Sniper Elite is a third-person shooter set during WW2. Players must single-handedly complete missions against the Nazis, using their sniper rifle and sniping skills as their primary weapons. A prominent feature of the game is the X-ray kill cam system, which shows a cross-section of a target complete with the damage done internally by a bullet or handgun.

Sniper Elite 5 will be released sometime in 2022, according to the trailer. The end of the trailer mentions the platforms Windows via Epic, Steam and Microsoft and the consoles Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 4 and 5. The game will also soon be available on the Game Pass subscription service. Previous games also came to Nintendo consoles, but at least they’re not talking about that yet.
