Smartphone brand realme has shown Mini Capsule, a software function that stores information about battery status and steps taken in a round element around the front camera. This is reminiscent of the Dynamic Island concept that Apple introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro.

The feature is in realme UI 4.0 and appears with the C55 phone which realme will announce next week. From the release, the software shows when the battery is almost empty, the charging status and data usage. After a software update, a pedometer and distance traveled will be added.

Mini Capsule surrounds a single front camera. This differs from the iPhone 14 Pro, which has multiple cutouts in the screen around which the Dynamic Island sits. The front camera is centrally located at the top of the screen, as with many phones.

The feature is limited compared to Dynamic Island, as it has limited utility and apps cannot use it with an API. Dynamic Island is a software feature of last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. Realme is a sister brand of OPPO and OnePlus.
