Razer is closing the Game Store, its digital store for selling games. The web store was only opened last year, but seems to have had little success. The doors will close at the end of this month.

The Razer Game Store’s website itself does not reveal anything about the impending shutdown, but the company has released a statement indicating that games will no longer be available for purchase in the digital store from next month. Channel News Asia, among others, has put the reporting online.

According to Razer, the emphasis will be on other ways of marketing digital content in the future. One of those ways is Razer Gold, a type of digital currency that can be used to purchase content. In addition, there is Silver, a kind of reward system for Razer users.

The Razer Game Store has been around for less than a year since its closure; in April of last year, Razer announced the arrival of the store along with the arrival of the digital currency.
