Razer shows Project Sophia concept desk with built-in PC and 65″ OLED screen
Razer showcases a ‘modular desk’ prototype, Project Sophia. This desk contains a 65″ OLED screen, a built-in PC and space for interchangeable modules, for example for touchscreens. The company also announces a gaming chair with haptic feedback.
Razer shows the prototype at CES. There, the company reports that the PC and the various modules are magnetically attached to the bottom of the desk. Razer provides the concept agency with a PC with ‘the most recent Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU. The company won’t go into detail, but images show a computer with laptop-like cooling, so it may be mobile CPUs and GPUs.
The desk also offers space for thirteen interchangeable modules, which, according to Razer, can be freely adapted for different use cases. Razer mentions, for example, modules with an external capture card, touchscreens on which hotkeys can be set, a wireless charger, or a warming module for a mug.
Project Sophia is also equipped with Chroma RGB LEDs and a built-in 65″ OLED screen that functions as a monitor. The height of the desk does not appear to be adjustable and the position of the OLED screen also seems to be fixed. Engadget writes that Razer may also be working on a 77″ model, but it’s not clear yet if Project Sophia will ever hit the market.
Razer Enki Pro HyperSense Gaming Chair with Haptic Feedback
The manufacturer also announces an Enki Pro HyperSense gaming chair. The company developed that chair in collaboration with D-BOX. The Enki Pro HyperSense has a motor for haptic feedback. That system, according to the company, is supported in “more than 2,200 games, movies and music”, citing games such as F1 2021, Forza Horizon 5 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. These are games that are also compatible with D-Box’s current haptic feedback systems.
The company also talks about support for “almost all popular streaming services” for media. The chair also has a headrest with RGB LEDs. It is not known whether Razer will market the Enki Pro HyperSense and the company does not mention a suggested retail price.
