Razer is releasing new versions of the Deathadder and Basilisk mouse. These gaming mice are equipped with updated sensors, more buttons and new switches, but largely retain their original shapes and designs.

The Razer Deathadder V2 has the optical Focus+ sensor with an accuracy of 20,000 dpi on board, which can also be found, for example, in the wireless Basilisk Ultimate mouse that Razer released at the end of last year. Furthermore, the new Deathadder mouse is equipped with optical switches that register a click by means of infrared light and would last up to 70 million clicks; the Deathadder Elite has mechanical variants for that. The manufacturer has applied a sweat-resistant coating, the total number of programmable buttons of the Deathadder V2 is eight and the scroll wheel can be turned with a lower resistance. In terms of ergonomics, Razer says it has made an improvement in the form of rubber grips on the sides. The mouse weighs 82g and will cost 80 euros.

The manufacturer also comes with the Basilisk V2. This mouse has the same Focus+ sensor as the Deathadder V2 and is also equipped with the aforementioned optical switches. Where the predecessor still has to make do with eight programmable buttons, the Basilisk V2 has a total of eleven programmable buttons and a scroll wheel that can be set entirely as desired by the user in terms of the degree of resistance. This makes the scroll wheel very similar to that of the Logitech G502 Hero. Most of the newly added buttons are located around the scroll wheel, which can now also be moved left and right. The Basilisk V2 also has improved textured side grips, according to Razer. The mouse weighs 92g and will cost 90 euros.
