Razer introduces PC soundbar that adapts sound to user position
Razer comes with the Leviathan V2 Pro, a soundbar intended for the PC that can direct the sound based on the position of the user. According to the manufacturer, this should lead to a better audio experience.
Razer talks about the Leviathan V2 Pro as “the world’s first desktop beamforming soundbar with AI for head tracking.” For this, the manufacturer works together with THX and Audioscenic. According to Razer, the latter company is an expert in beamforming and therefore in directing the sound.
Tracking the user’s position is done via an integrated infrared camera that allows the soundbar to better direct the sound. Razer also talks about artificial intelligence for tracking the user’s head, but doesn’t elaborate on that.
There are two modes for the ‘3d audio’ created by THX. First, there’s a Spatial Audio Virtual Headset mode for stereo sound, which should more or less resemble a headphone experience where the user can precisely position the sound in space. In addition, there is a Spatial Audio Virtual Speakers mode, which is intended for surround sound to fill the entire room with sound.
Razer supplies a subwoofer and the soundbar has support for the Razer Chroma RGB function to project all kinds of colors under the soundbar. The Leviathan V2 Pro will be available this month for a suggested retail price of 490 euros.
