Razer introduces Cobra gaming mice; Pro version has 30,000dpi sensor
Razer has introduced two gaming mice: the Cobra and Cobra Pro. The Cobra is wired, has an 8,500dpi sensor and costs 45 euros. The Cobra Pro is wireless, has a 30,000 dpi sensor, can achieve a polling rate of 4,000 Hz and costs 149 euros. Both mice are available immediately.
The Cobra Pro contains according to Razer a battery that can last up to 170 hours. This result is only achieved in combination with a Bluetooth connection. When users use the separately sold HyperSpeed dongle, the computer mouse can last up to 100 hours on a single charge. The polling rate must be set to 1,000Hz. If the polling rate is set to 4,000Hz in this scenario, the mouse will last a maximum of 33 hours. A polling rate indicates how many times per second a mouse transmits its position to the computer.
The Pro supports 75G of acceleration, while the regular version supports 35G. Both the regular Cobra and the Cobra Pro are equipped with third-generation optical switches from Razer, which according to the company have a lifespan of 90 million clicks. The Cobra Pro can store five user profiles, while the regular version can store a single one.
Both mice have RGB lighting, but the Pro has 11 different zones. The Cobra has a single RGB zone. The mouse buttons can be adjusted and any changes can be saved on the Cobra Pro in one of the five memory profiles. The regular Cobra has a memory profile in comparison.
