Razer introduces BlackWidow mechanical keyboard for 130 euros
Razer has added a new mechanical keyboard to its BlackWidow line. The new model, simply called BlackWidow, features green Razer switches and Chroma backlighting. The price is 130 euros.
The new BlackWidow is more extensive than the BlackWidow Lite announced last year and takes over some features of the more expensive BlackWidow Elite. Razer already introduced a BlackWidow in 2013, but the new model is also more extensive compared to this product. The keyboard has Razer Green Mechanical Switches and Chroma RGB backlighting that can be controlled via the Synapse 3 software.
The keyboard has n-key rollover with anti-hosting and offers a 1000Hz polling rate. There is onboard memory for the storage of profiles and for lighting, key combinations and macros, but that storage can also be done on Razer’s servers. The BlackWidow will be launched this month for 130 euros.
Also new is the Kraken headphones, which will also be released this month. These aluminum-framed headphones have 50mm drivers and a cooling gel layer as earcup padding. The frequency range is 12Hz to 28kHz and for the microphone it is 100Hz to 10kHz. The price of the Kraken is 80 euros and it comes in green, pink and black.
Finally, there is the Razer Basilisk Essential mouse for gamers. The sensor of the Essential is less sensitive than that of the regular Basilisk: 6400dpi compared to 16,000dpi. The polling rate is 1000Hz, and the mouse has mechanical switches and seven programmable buttons. There is also RGB lighting for the Razer logo and the rubber grip has been adjusted compared to the existing Basilisk. The price of the Basilisk Essential is 50 euros.
